Dr. Dre's debut solo album defined West Coast rap for the next decade. Released in December 1992 on Death Row Records after his departure from N.W.A., The Chronic introduced the G-funk sound: smooth Parliafunkadelic samples, synthesizer bass, and laid-back vocal flows over content that was anything but relaxed. Snoop Dogg appears on nearly every track, using the album to launch one of the most successful solo careers in rap history. Nuthin' But a G Thang, Let Me Ride, and F*** Wit Dre Day remain West Coast cornerstones. This 2023 reissue is the first official CD pressing since the original Death Row issue.
