Behind Bars (LP, 180 Gram, Import)

Slick Rick, born Ricky Walters, is a British-American hip-hop storyteller who came up with Doug E. Fresh & The Get Fresh Crew on "La Di Da Di" and "The Show," and made his solo debut with The Great Adventures of Slick Rick, home to "Children's Story." Behind Bars, his third album, came out in 1994 on Def Jam. It was recorded while Rick was on furlough from prison, with some tracks built around vocals recorded years earlier and more work done during a 1993 work-release period. Production came from Warren G, Greg Nice, Paul Huston, Easy Mo Bee, and Rick himself, with remixes by Pete Rock on "I'm Captive" and "Get a Job" and by Large Professor on "It's a Boy." Nice & Smooth, Warren G, and Doug E. Fresh guest. This Dutch import is pressed on 180 gram black vinyl and includes an insert. More New York classics are in our New York Foundation collection.
