Heavy Is the Crown (LP)

Grammy-winning Anderson .Paak and Grammy-nominated rapper Cordae have been on the same wavelength for years, from 2019's "RNP" to "Two Tens" and "Summer Drop," and Heavy Is the Crown is the debut collaborative album that bond always deserved. The title speaks to the weight both carry as providers and anchors for their families, balanced by an uncompromising sense of fun, with .Paak's elastic, soul-drenched musicality anchoring Cordae's razor-sharp lyricism. The production includes J. Cole, 9th Wonder, Conductor Williams, and Swizz Beatz, and the album art pays homage to the cult comedy Step Brothers. Start with Malibu if you are new to him.
