Snoop Doggy Dogg

Snoop Doggy Dogg's 1993 debut, Doggystyle, produced almost entirely by Dr. Dre, became the first debut album by any artist to enter the Billboard 200 at No. 1, turning G-funk into the defining sound of West Coast hip-hop for the rest of the decade. Tha Doggfather followed in 1996, Dre gone from Death Row by then, Daz Dillinger stepping in to prove Snoop could carry a record entirely on his own voice, still double-platinum despite the chaos surrounding the label at the time.
