Gucci Mane

Gucci Mane, T.I., and Jeezy are credited together as the three architects who pushed trap music into the mainstream during the 2000s, and Trap House, Gucci's 2005 debut, is one of the genre's foundational documents, released through Big Cat Records under the Tommy Boy umbrella. The lead single, "Icy," produced by Zaytoven and featuring Jeezy, became both rappers' mutual breakout moment and, for years afterward, the flashpoint of a real feud between them, one they finally put to rest performing the song together at their 2020 Verzuz battle. This 20th anniversary pressing marks two decades since trap had one of its first real blueprints.
