DJ Spanish Fly

DJ Spanish Fly is one of the foundational figures of Memphis rap. Long before the city's underground sound influenced artists around the world, his homemade mixtapes circulated hand to hand across Tennessee and the South, defining a raw, bass-heavy style that became a blueprint for generations of producers. Cadillac Warning collects previously unreleased recordings from the 1990s, and artists like A$AP Rocky, Legowelt, and LIM champion his work. More mixtape history is in our archive.
