Justin Scott grew up in Meridian, Mississippi, absorbing UGK, OutKast, and the full spectrum of Southern soul before teaching himself to produce. Return of 4Eva arrived in 2011 as a free mixtape and landed on Rolling Stone's year-end best albums list, which almost never happens for free projects. He writes his own raps, produces his own beats, and has spent fifteen years building a catalog that respects where Southern rap came from while expanding what it can do. My Sub, Rotation, and Mt.
