Piñata (CD)

Piñata is the 2014 debut collaboration between Gary, Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs and Stones Throw producer Madlib. Entirely produced by Madlib and built from his signature loop-digging soul, funk, and film-sample work, it pairs Gibbs's transparent, technical delivery against features from Raekwon, Earl Sweatshirt, Danny Brown, Scarface, and Mac Miller. Widely considered one of the defining underground hip-hop records of the 2010s, the first entry in the acclaimed Gibbs/Madlib trilogy that continued with Bandana and Alfredo.
