De La Soul's sixth album arrived in December 2001, a year after Mosaic Thump, continuing the group's Chrysalis era with a looser, more playful record that found them stretching in new directions. Baby Phat, featuring Yummy Bingham and Devin the Dude, became their ode to self-acceptance. Held Down with Cee-Lo found Posdnuos in his most introspective mode — fatherhood, religion, fame. Slick Rick appeared on What We Do (For Love). The Reverend Do Good skits ran through the record as social commentary. This 2023 Chrysalis reissue comes in a 4-panel wallet with an 8-panel folder.
