3 Feet High and Rising (2xLP, Magenta Vinyl, 180 Gram)

3 Feet High and Rising, De La Soul's debut, released March 3, 1989, is the first of three albums with producer Prince Paul and one of the most acclaimed hip-hop records ever made. It carries "Me Myself and I," "The Magic Number," "Buddy," and "Eye Know," took its title from the Johnny Cash song "Five Feet High and Rising," and topped the 1989 Village Voice Pazz & Jop critics poll. Released at the height of gangsta rap, its positive, sample-rich D.A.I.S.Y. Age style (Da Inner Soul, Y'all) is often seen as the beginning of 1990s alternative hip-hop and jazz rap. This edition is a 180 gram double LP on magenta vinyl. The yellow vinyl pressing and the rest of the catalog are in our De La Soul collection.
